All Stars versus USA

Was it really any suprise that USA basketball won on Saturday? The USA team plays together regularly and they seemed to use this game as another practice game instead of just having fun.
On the other hand the WNBA All Stars were at a big disadvantage due to the injuries. They would've been so much better if the world's best player, Lauren Jackson, had been able to play. Plus I think it is sad that her parents made it to the game but were unable to see their daughter play. Also they would've been better if the best American point guard, Becky Hammon, had been able to play.
Yes I said it on here for everyone to read - Sue Bird is NOT America's best guard. She has the ego of a best player but not the skills. She's the point guard of the USA team because the USA team has been coached by people who have been her coach in other arenas (college and WNBA).
Still it was a good game and many other well deserving players had a good day so I am glad that ESPN aired it.

Lauren Jackson Concusion

I actually got to watch Saturday's game on ESPN 2 and I saw Lauren Jackson take a couple of head hits. I was actually amazed, she usually doles out the head shots with her world famous elbows but I rarely see her get hit. It is sad that she is being listed as having concusion symptoms. I hope that she is better by Saturday for the All-Star versus USA basketball game. I'm looking forward to seeing that game but it will be much better if LJ is in the game!

Sacramento Monarchs Gone!

I've been a bit disappointed with the WNBA this season but then I realized that I can't give up on them completely, after all they didn't choose to get rid of my favorite team - Sacramento Monarchs. Many of my favorite players are still around which is still exciting!
My other disapointment this year was the lack of games on ABC and ESPN 2. It seems like there were more games on TV last year then they have this year. At least I can watch the games on the Live Video at WNBA.com but they are much more exciting on a 42" screen then they are on a 12" screen.
Right now I am watching Seattle take on San Antonio. Two of my favorite players are Lauren Jackson and Becky Hammon so this is an exciting game for me to watch.
